STATION 3: The Photos of Recovery

• Look through the photographs. They have also been printed out and are available. These were taken by the Monuments Men Unit during the recovery of stolen art.

• Answer these questions on your paper:

  • 1. What is your reaction to the amount of artwork the Nazis stole?

    2. What would your reaction have been if you had been a soldier during WWII and you were ordered to risk your life to try to find this stolen art?

    3. Would it have made a difference if you joined voluntarily or if you were drafted?
